Shipping Co-Ordinator

C & D Foods have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Co-Ordinator to join our team. This role will be based in Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford.

The job entails coordination of shipments from the C&D site to agreed customer depot or 3PL ensuring preparation and processing of customs clearance for any non EU shipments.

It involves working closely with the Production / Planning teams and approved hauliers to ensure sufficient trailers on site to load product.

You will liaise with Customer Services, Supply Chain and Commercial and ensure they are kept up to date on deliveries and sales orders.

Excellent administration, organisational and communication skills are needed.

Specific Responsibilities Include :

  • Planning the sites day to day transport requirements internal / external.
  • Creation of sales / transfer orders in TROPOS.
  • Processing of bookings / pre-advise information for customers / 3PL's transport providers.
  • Processing of load details in conjunction with C&D's customs clearance agent to ensure customs clearance approval to maintain the flow of shipments to any non EU countries.
  • To coordinate the allocation and loading of trailers on site to ensure stock is transported to the correct customer / 3PL in a timely manner.
  • Communicate all relevant information or necessary changes to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor, produce and report daily / weekly management and finance information.

Key Capabilities / Competencies :

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels of the organisation
  • A conscientious individual with excellent organisational and administration skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • A customer focused and detail oriented approach to work
  • The ability to analyse data, fault find and problem solve
  • Very good knowledge of systems with good PC skills
  • An understanding of warehouse and factory environment
  • Flexible attitude to work with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Expected years of experience : 2 years' experience working in a Transport related area would be advantageous.
  • Expected Educational Qualifications : Leaving Certificate or relevant discipline.

NOTE : This role involves weekend work and candidates must be willing to work weekends as set out by the Company in line with Business needs.
