Senior Speech And Language Therapist

The post holder will provide a quality Speech & Language Therapy Service to inpatients referred by a wide range of medical and surgical specialties who present with feeding eating, drinking and swallowing problems and/or communication difficulties associated with their medical condition.

Qualification and Experience:

a) B.Sc (Hons) degree from one of the following universities: TCD, NUIG, NUIC

or

(b) M.Sc Speech and Language Therapy (Professional Qualification) from the University of Limerick

or

(c) Licentiateship of the College of Speech Therapists

or

(d) a qualification in Speech & Language at least equivalent to (a) (b) or (c).

· Qualified and experienced in working with infants and children with eating, drinking and swallowing disorders (Dysphagia qualification) at an advanced level (or transitioning from intermediate to advanced).

· A minimum of three years post qualification experience

· Membership or eligibility for membership of the IASLT

· A high level of continuing professional development in paediatric SLT.

· Candidates must be registered with CORU at the time of the application.

Skills & Knowledge:

· Experience of working with infants and children with complex needs.

· Experience of working with children with a wide variety of speech and language delays and disorders.

Personal Attributes:

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work well in a fast paced, changing and multi-disciplinary environment.
