Senior Occupational Therapist

The Acute Occupational Therapy services in Tipperary University Hospital deliver inpatient services across the hospital. The overall aim is to promote independence and improve quality of life through participation in meaningful activities. Occupational Therapists assist individuals who are unable to function independently or carry out their roles in life due to illness or disability. With instruction, education & learning, we help people achieve their goals in the fields of work, leisure, and self-care, to promote independence. We liaise with families and carers to ensure they have the appropriate information and approach when caring for the individual.

The Senior Occupational Therapist will work as part of multi-disciplinary teams delivering a coordinated approach to client care. S/he will be required to work as a key worker for particular cases. Work with all team members to guarantee that every patient reaches their full potential. Encourage and assist in the development of an efficient, adaptable, accountable, cost-conscious, and best-value culture across all services. Communicating with external stakeholders to guarantee our patients receive seamless care.

Service Area 1: Senior Occupational Therapist – Stroke– 1 WTE permanent

This post is primarily for the management of Stroke and will work with the Stroke Team. Stroke inpatient and outpatient service setting as part of an MDT approach to care.

Service Area 2: Senior Occupational Therapist – General Medicine - 1 WTE permanent

This post is primarily for the management of General Medical patients as part of a Multidisciplinary Team.
