This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our service to support children and their families, presenting with complex needs arising from a disability.

The Occupational Therapist is a valuable member of the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) who will provide a quality evidence-based service in line with Progressing Disability Services (PDS) principles including family-centred practice.

We currently have the following permanent Senior Occupational Therapist positions on our CDNTs:

* Part of this role will also provide onsite support to St. Michaels House Special National School Ballymun.

The successful candidate must have the following:

Essential Criteria

  • Degree or Masters in Occupational Therapy accredited to the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
  • Fully registered or registration in process with CORU.
  • A minimum of 3 years post graduate clinical working experience.
  • Two years’ experience in the area of paediatric disability.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to work in a self directed manner.
  • Excellent ability to work with complex cases as part of a team.
  • Committed to the delivery of quality, family-centred, community-based services
  • Evidence of CPD in leadership/mentoring/supervision.
  • Evidence of a commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) in the relevant area.

Desirable Criteria

  • Clinical experience of working with children with a variety of complex needs including ASD, Intellectual Disability and Physical Disability.
  • Experience in supporting 24-hour postural management needs with a recognised seating/postural management course completed.
  • Experience in the implementation of sensory integration approaches with a recognised sensory integration course completed.
  • Previous experience related to Assessment of Need.
  • Full clean driving licence and use of a car
