Senior Medical Scientist, Point Of Care Testing

The successful candidate will have:

• A relevant qualification as stipulated by the Health Service Executive. As such they should possess an NFQ Level 9 post graduate qualifications or equivalent qualification at minimum Level 9 validated by the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine
• A minimum of 4 years post qualification experience is required. Experience with modern molecular methods in histopathology and emergency on-call rotas is desirable.
• The successful candidate must be CORU registered with the Medical Scientist's Board at CORU.
• An appreciation of all aspects of the provision of a modern POCT service is required.
• Familiarity with ISO 15189 standards and relevant POCT guidelines. Familiarity with Laboratory information systems and current health and safety legislation as it pertains to the laboratory is desirable,
• Experience of managing a POCT service is desirable
• The candidate should be a team player with excellent communication skills. They should have the ability to co-ordinate with laboratory management and other hospital departments to ensure delivery of an appropriate POCT and laboratory service.
