Over the past four years, the Digital Innovation team at Three Ireland has driven the advancement of some of the most cutting-edge technologies and methodologies in the telecom industry. This effort includes overhauling our in-store technology experience, upgrading our front-end infrastructure, initiating the path towards DevOps and Agility, and importantly, establishing digital as a significant growth opportunity for the business. We are now entering the next phase of evolution and require an energetic, resilient, passionate, and skilled leader who rejects mediocrity and can set high standards.

At Three Digital Innovation, we defy conventions, and the Senior Manager of eCommerce & Online Sales lays the groundwork to achieve this.

You will oversee the eCommerce sales team and the have overall responsibility for the commercial performance of Three.ie, holding accountability for sales and profit margins while meeting established targets. The position requires crafting a compelling vision for digital commerce, incorporating new insights, identifying flaws and opportunities for improvement, and guiding strategy to meet online sales and channel share goals. You will manage the entire online sales journey, including device launches, preorders, promotions, as well as onsite advertising and landing pages, in close collaboration with the Digital, Experience, and MarCom’s Teams.

In this role, you will be.

  • Fully accountable for optimisation of channel performance against targets for core, lifestyle and accessories sales. You will ensure that action plans and initiatives are agreed in conjunction with your team and the propositions team to achieve KPI's - sales in all products, acquisition & retention, customer satisfaction, usage.
  • Accountable for creating a digital marketing (One Search) and sales plan in cooperation with key stakeholders to optimise for SEO and utilising analytics. Ensure that digital is a central element of new proposition and device launches.
  • Harness the potential of online to be agile and responsive - launching new content or offers quickly to take advantage of events, trends or other opportunities to reach customers. You will take strong positions in the adoption of AI and leading technologies to drive search strategy, content generation and personalised customer behaviour.
  • You will engage with senior Leadership across all levels of the organisation to build relationships that ensure support for online sales channel operations and initiatives ensuring priority, budget and implementation of initiatives resulting in the achievement of sales targets.
  • Represent the commercial and funnel performance of online to all senior stakeholders, you will be the standard bearer for executive reporting within the team and you will take the lead in our weekly, monthly KBR and yearly governance processes.
  • Drive the team to establish a portfolio of partners and affiliates across multiple product sectors to drive profitability and solidify this channel as a source of revenue for the business.
  • Drive the team to ensure digital initiative adoption and achievement of business case within the business, in particular usage of Promocodes, refer a Friend, Cart Abandonment, Deep linking etc across all channels.
  • Working with your Digital Analytics lead, establish insight that drives increased commercial performance while monitoring success against key KPIs and benchmarks.
  • Working with your peers in IT and Digital R&D; Own, identify, propose and implement new online sales opportunities, offers, techniques and technologies to ensure the organisation is always harnessing the latest potential of online to deliver sales.
  • Work with our Risk and Fraud teams to influence accept rates and identify areas for improvement.
  • You will lead and develop your team to ensure that the requisite skills are in place and to foster a high-performance culture in line with our company values. You will support on activities relating to performance, recruitment, development and engagement.
  • As part of the Digital SLT you will own the key performance KPIs for team including protection of a culture that is inclusive, diverse, modern and High Performing.
  • As part of the Commercial CLC you will bring your experience to bare in influencing key decisions in a Commercial Department that is responsible for the majority of revenue in the organisation.

The skills we're looking for.

  • A lifelong learner and advocate of knowledge with an ability to grasp complex concepts with ease and stay one step ahead.
  • Vocational about all things Digital and commercial performance, you’re the type of person that gets a reward from identifying what works and does not work in an online environment.
  • Strong experience in an Online Sales and/or eCommerce Management role, preferably leading a high performing team in a multi-channel environment.
  • Strong experience of working in a high expectancy environment combined with an understanding of the importance of work-life balance.
  • Strong analytical ability with a knack for pattern recognition in trend reports and financials combined with experience of utilising online analytics information to deliver improvements to customer experience and conversion rates.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects as well as building and managing requirements effectively.
  • Experience owning and managing Search strategy and performance.
  • Experience of a broad range of e-Commerce technologies - including CMS platforms, analytics & personalisation technologies (ideally on Adobe).
  • Exceptional communication and reporting skills including an advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and the ability to translate complexity into simplicity.
  • Exceptional culture cultivation skills, with a keen interest in educating, protecting and building high performing teams.
  • Strong balanced across the four essential areas of driving change; Ideation, execution, resilience and consistency.
  • A strong business influencer with excellent negotiation skills and the resilience required to see through fundamental and positive change.
  • A foundational understanding of the key metrics that underpin the role, Margin Contribution, Operating Ratios, P&L, conversion, task completion and funnel effectiveness.
  • A demonstrable ability to work within a wider, high performing team with resiliency, influence and commitment.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience of working in Telecoms environment would be preferable but not essential.
  • This role is suitable to an Intrapreneur, a team player who has hunger for results balanced with work-life balance.
  • Experience working in an agile environment preferable, but not essential.
  • Likes to keep up to date with emerging trends and ways of enabling digital transformation in non-digital businesses.
  • Experience in writing complex business cases with an understanding of Return on Investment.
