Senior International Fellowship In Congenital Interventional Cardiology
Principal Duties
The successful applicant will work with a team of 3 WTE Consultants in Congenital Interventional Cardiology.
Clinical:
- Participate as a member of a the congenital interventional cardiology team providing care pre-procedural, procedural and post-procedural care to patients undergoing congenital cardiac interventions at CHI at Crumlin.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary hospital-based medical and surgical teams to coordinate care for children with complex needs
- Progress knowledge of common paediatric cardiac conditions requiring interventional treatment.
- Assess patients on admission and/or discharge as required
- Liaise with Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Belfast to arrange transfer of care for follow up for patients treated at CHI at Crumlin.
- Partake in one out-patients clinic per week.
- Prepare and present patient data at the weekly joint cardiac conference.
- Ensure that duties and functions are undertaken in a manner that prioritises the safety and well-being of patients
- Undertake research and/or audit in relation to hospital paediatric dentistry and participate in multidisciplinary clinical audit and proactive risk management and facilitate production of all data/information for same;
- Publication of results of research and/or audit
- Co-operate with such measures as are necessary to ensure compliance with the requirements of the European Working Time Directive and related Irish legislation
- Co-operate with investigations, enquiries or audit relating to the provision of health services
Non Clinical: Research
The successful candidate will perform other duties as required by the supervising Consultant/Clinical Director/Employer
Essential Criteria:
- Medical Degree
- Candidates should be registered with The Irish Medical Council
- Completion of general paediatric training
- At least two years dedicated paediatric cardiology training
Desirable Criteria:
- At least 6 months experience working in a congenital cardiac catheter laboratory.
