Contract: Specified Purpose - Full Time (39 hrs per week)

Location: Listowel Day Service

Roster: Mon: 08:30 - 17:00, Tues - Fri: 08:30 - 16:45

The Role:

• The core activities for the post of Senior Instructor will be to enable the people we support realise their goals and achieve their identified priorities. The role will include incorporating and implementing New Directions in line with National standards for day services.
• The Senior Instructor role involves providing emotional support for both individuals and families including physical support which may include personal care.
• The successful candidate will provide support and act as an advocate for participation and inclusion in the Community on behalf of the person we support. They will encourage and support the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests, teach life skills along with working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all health care needs meet the highest possible standards.
• This is a supervisory role, bus escort duties may be included.
• The successful candidate will furthermore operate within a framework of a person centered approach and will actively engage with and promote co-operation and partnership with other services, both internally and externally and in particular with families.

Essential Criteria:

• Applicants should possess a relevant third level qualification (Minimum – Degree, Level 7).
• Experience of working in a care delivery capacity, preferably within a disability service.
• A full drivers licence with access to a car insured for business purposes is essential.
• Where applicable, applicants must hold a valid Irish work permit.
