In an evolving mobile technology landscape, this technology future focused role presents a significant opportunity to enhance customer experience and market differentiation by optimising vendor strategies, commercial sourcing, and product go-to-market (GTM) execution. 
By leading vendor roadmap strategies and aligning product launches with trading, insights, supply chain, and commercial teams, this position will maximise Three Irelands leading position in the Irish market.
With a deep understanding of the smartphone, broadband, and ecosystem landscape, the role will shape portfolio decisions in alignment with network and market trends. Engaging with key stakeholders, including marketing and technical teams, the opportunity lies in unlocking incremental commercial value, optimising product launches, and reinforcing the company’s market leadership offering the best value to customers.

Join us as a Senior Devices Manager

The Senior Devices Manager Ireland is responsible for overall hardware product range strategy for Devices, Tablets, Broadband, IOT, across a range of segments, vendors for business and consumer. Responsible for understanding the latest trend in technology and managing the product relationships with all vendors and representing Three Ireland at the CKIOD Global Devices Team.

What else it involves;

  • Lead vendors roadmap strategies across business and consumer to lead with the highest NPS for range with our customers. Lead GTM’s to launch products effectively into both markets driving differentiation.
  • The key internal teams you will interface with are trading (Proposition acquisition, additional revenue & retention, business and government), insights, new products, lifestyle, business intelligence, commercial performance, planning, supply chain, technical team and channel performance.
  • Commercial sourcing and contractual negotiations i.e. owns cost price list and determines products for channels to range to support new segments & segmentation supported by the commercial vendor teams.
  • Focus on all categories, to bring compelling products to our existing and future customers, and support key company projects/initiatives to bring the products to life on behalf of Three Ireland.
  • Understand the Smartphone, Broadband & Ecosystem product landscape and how those products fit to the company strategy, company segmentation and contribute to overall business growth.
  • Ensure full support of broad range of internal stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the product, including but not limited to supporting trading and GTM’s via marketing across all channels, managing and resolving issues.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the 3Irelands customer segmentation, strategies, and key price points.
  • Build a thorough awareness of competitive marketplace for both networks and retailers.
  • Have in depth knowledge of vendor strategies, group strategies/initiatives and report on overall plans. Link in with both networks development plans to ensure the current devices are ranged to support.
  • Use commercial skills to unlock incremental opportunities and maximise ROI and identify where products features, and technical specification require wider business engagement and briefing.

The skills we're looking for:

  • A person who has real passion for technology, mobile devices, consumer products and future focused to maximise the businesses opportunities.
  • Strong people leader to manage an effective hardware portfolio team and technology strategy.
  • Excellent partnership management skills for internal and external facing stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to translate hardware, service and technical features into customer benefits, system and service impacts.
  • An effective communicator who can present a clear strategic outlook for the business and who can collaborate with vendor product teams and global brands.
  • Strong understanding of market and global insights and ability to extract key information to support ranging and product decisions to benefit the business.
  • Adaptability to fast pace change of vendor partner roadmaps and ability to cascade effectively.
  • Understanding EU & Local regulations and how these shape product portfolios, in life management and commercial agreements.
  • High Level understanding & analysis of the companies' technical requirements and how these correlates to product roadmap and implementation.

Nice to Have:

  • Technical, business or marketing degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven leading relationship management & skills.
  • Demonstrate market delivery of mobile device products (or other consumer electronic products)
  • Consistent proven ability to identify and adopt rational solutions and evaluations to highly emotive issues.
  • Excellent relationship building skills at all levels in the organisation.
  • Commercial awareness - the ability to quickly determine the commercial significance and impact.
  • A Self starter with a passion for technology.
