(Roscommon Town, Kilteevan, Athleague, Tremane/Rahara areas)

A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Senior Community Facilitator Appointments within the Strokestown and Roscommon Town Services will be made over the next 6 months.

The Role:

The Senior Community Facilitator has a pivotal role as the direct staff to support an individual with an Intellectual Disability and Autism. The successful candidate will be employed to support and empower the individual with all aspect of their daily living in line with their Personal Outcome Measures. The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to positively deliver the necessary supports required including Positive Behaviour Support plans.

Qualifications/Experience:

Each candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A relevant 3rd level qualification preferably in Community Development or Applied Social Studies is desirable;
  • At least 2-3 years previous experience in a similar role or field;
  • Knowledge and experience of working with people who present with behaviours that challenge is an essential requirement of the posts;
  • Knowledge and experience of working with people with an intellectual disability/autism is desirable;
  • A positive attitude towards enabling people supported by the services to have a positive and fulfilling lifestyle;
  • Good team working and supervisory skills together with an interest in community connecting;
  • Knowledge of HIQA standards and current regulations/legislation;
  • A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads is an essential requirement;
  • Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.

Working hours:

Post 1 (Strokestown Services): 60 hours a fortnight rostered Monday to Friday. Contracted hours of work are liable to change from 8am to 8pm to meet the requirements of the programme.

Post 2 (Roscommon Town Services): 60 hours a fortnight rostered Monday to Friday. Contracted hours of work are liable to change from 8am to 8pm to meet the requirements of the programme.

Annual Leave:

22 days per annum (pro-rata for part-time).

Remuneration:

€39,120 x 8 increments - €49,778 (Max) per annum pro-rata (Department of Health Senior Instructor/Supervisor Grade as at 01/10/2024). LSI 1 €51,395 per annum pro-rata is paid after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. LSI 2 €53,101 per annum pro-rata is paid after a further 3 years.

Tenure:

Both posts are permanent part-time and pensionable.
