About the role

As a Senior Financial Accountant reporting to the financial director, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, analysis, and strategic decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support our organic growth and mergers and acquisitions while maintaining compliance and transparency in board reporting.

About you

Ability to conduct financial due diligence and analysis for potential mergers and acquisitions, including assessing financial statements, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing recommendations to senior management. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of acquired entities into the company's financial processes, systems, and reporting structures. Prepare complex financial models, forecasts, and valuations to assess the financial impact of potential transactions and aid in decision-making. Preparation and presentation of financial reports to the board of directors, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls to maintain financial integrity and adhere to relevant accounting standards. Provide guidance and mentorship to finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and reviews, addressing inquiries and providing necessary documentation. Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations related to mergers, acquisitions, and board reporting, and ensure the company's practices remain compliant. Participate in cross-functional strategic initiatives, leveraging financial insights to support the achievement of business goals.

Skills and experience

- Qualification in Accounting or Business (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).

- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience.

- Ownership of monthly management accounts.

- FP&A experience is desirable but not essential.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced skills in Excel is essential. Experience with Power BI is an advantage but not mandatory (It would be good if the candidate had an interest to learn this to help the finance function evolve)

- Proven track record in financial due diligence processes for mergers and acquisitions.

- Strong understanding of accounting principles and ability to apply them to complex financial transactions.

- Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and valuation techniques.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

- Experience with board reporting and presenting financial insights to executive leadership and board members.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.

- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
