​​​​Job Overview
The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets, and property within a designated site. This role involves monitoring access control, patrolling premises, responding to incidents, and enforcing security policies and procedures to prevent unauthorized activities.

Main Activities/Tasks
  • Monitor entry points to prevent unauthorised access
  • Log all sign in and out of contractors and visitors
  • Log and monitor all delivery and collection vehicles.
  • Verify identification of employees, Visitors and Contractors.
  • Conduct routine site security patrols of the site, when the sites are closed to other personnel, to check buildings for fire risks or anything which may have the potential to cause damage.
  • Identify and report issues, suspicious activity or security breaches
  • Assist in emergency procedures as required
  • Ensure adherence to company security policies and procedures
  • Enforce security and safety regulations within the site
  • Provide customer service and guidance to visitors and employees
  • Support security risk assessments and improvements
  • Participate in necessary training
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested
Essential Criteria:
  • The successful candidate must have a good working knowledge of security procedures and have at least one year relevant experience in this type of work.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Shift work will be an essential requirement for this role.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Proven organisational skills.
  • SIA qualification.
  • Experience of IT systems and automated Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Hold a current driving licence.
Duration: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Newry
