Reports to: Student Recruitment Manager
Hours: 14 hours per week (FTE 0.4) during school term time September – May (35 working weeks per year).
Evening and weekend work may be required.
Schedule of weekly hours to be worked flexible.
Salary: Grade IV Salary Scale: €38,218 - €54,367 per annum pro-rata, i.e. €10,253.97 - €14,586.78 per 35 working weeks
Annual Leave: 23 days per annum pro-rata, i.e. 6 days
Start Date: As soon as possible
Academic Registry providesa range of services to students, academic staff and senior management. It is a very busy environment with a team of staff working across the areas of Student Recruitment, Admissions, Student Records, Registrations, Fees & Grants, Erasmus, Examinations, Transcripts, and Conferrings. The student Information and general College reception desk is located in the area serving as the first point of contact for prospective students and the general public.
The area also supports the Head of Academic Affairs in the academic development, management and administration of the College.
Purpose of the Role – School Liaison Officer
NCAD is looking to expand its undergraduate student recruitment activity and develop stronger links with schools and Colleges of Further Education. The purpose of the School Liaison role is to work with a targeted list of Post Primary schools and Further Education Institutes (PLC) to increase awareness of the NCAD Undergraduate offering, ensuring applications from a larger number of students and a more diverse range of students. The reach of this role will be largely in the Leinster area.
Building good relationships with Post Primary schools, most especially the Guidance Counsellors and specific subject teachers is key to this role. It is important that the relevant people know the NCAD offering as well as the standard of work NCAD expects in applicants’ portfolios.
The School Liaison Officer will work as part of Student Recruitment Team.
The nature of the role means the post holder will be expected to travel within Ireland.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The broad duties attached to this role include:
- Planning, organising and carrying out visits to schools and FE colleges, where the post holder will be expected to deliver presentations in a professional manner and promote the benefits of the NCAD educational offer. The post holder will also be expected to develop a deep knowledge of the NCAD undergraduate offer in order to respond to questions from potential applicants and other interested stakeholders such as teachers, Guidance Counsellors and parents.
- Scheduling, planning and attending larger career events and exhibitions.
- Updating presentation material for school visits.
- Working with the Student Recruitment Manager to develop an undergraduate student recruitment plan to include attendance at careers fairs, exhibitions, schools, FE Colleges, NCAD Open days and other NCAD information sessions in person and online.
- Supporting the Student recruitment team in the updating of student facing information resources.
Reporting
- Using NCAD systems such as Active Campaign CRM to report on each customer interaction
- Full knowledge of Microsoft and Google products
- Keeping abreast of market developments and reporting this information back to NCAD Management
Supporting Team
- As required, help with Student Recruitment administrative tasks
- Attend occasional on-campus meetings

Essential Criteria
Knowledge and Experience:
● Experience representing an organisation at events or exhibitions
● Proven experience in stakeholder and relationship management
● Experience planning and managing events
● Full clean driving licence and own car
● Interest in and some knowledge of Education
Skills
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Well-developed time management and organisational skills
● Goal oriented and self-motivated
● Attention to detail
● Strong experience with Microsoft Office suite of programmes and CRMs
● Aptitude for learning and understanding new systems and processes
● Team player
● Route planning and diary management
● Reporting on market trends
● Flexibility in responding to the requirements of the post and ability to adapt to a changing environment.
Desirable Criteria
● Experience working with Post Primary schools and HEIs
● Knowledge of Art & Design sector
● Digital Marketing skills
