Role Profile

Reporting to the Senior Key Account manager for Specialised Nutrition and Omni channel, this role is responsible for managing the relationships with a portfolio of customers and channel partners in the food industry. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of a sales strategy for their portfolio through working closely with the relevant ingredient category managers.

The candidate will create value from both strategical and tactical sales, driven by accurate market insights gathered from the market and customer base. The right candidate will continually seek opportunities add value and optimise their portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the existing business to meet and beat short term and longer-term business targets.
  • To adequately represent the customer and the Tirlán businesses during contract negotiations
  • To develop an extensive and impactful network of external contacts and relationships for sales execution
  • Influence and to coordinate with other internal functions with the aim of providing a best-in-class service to the customer that is adequately rewarded.
  • Identify and achieve business objectives in line with the strategy
  • Identify and develop opportunities for new market entry and sales growth.
  • Contribute towards the collation of market intelligence and the competitive landscape and market pricing information on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Drive opportunities that allow Tirlán to grow through partnerships, investments, and mergers & acquisitions.
  • Manage all relevant customer facing communications, preparation of internal reports, market, and business development reviews (KPI variance and recovery plans) and customer/market sector bespoke reports as required.
  • Ensure a consistent and collaborative approach across the various sales channels, ingredient categories and internal and external functions.
  • Focus on the delivery of commercial excellence across the portfolio in line with strategic development objectives.
  • Champion the development of a pipeline of value-add opportunities for specific ingredients from time to time, working alongside Category, R&D, Marketing and Market Insights teams.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Proven experience in sales in a B2B context in the food industry with excellence in collaboration and joint value creation and sharing with customers and prospective customers.
  • Evidence of excellent relationship management skills and the ability to influence people across both internal and external business networks.
  • Evidence you are results driven, self-motivated and resourceful and can manage and develop people to reach best in class professional standards.
  • Evidence of operational excellence and results delivery.
  • Evidence of accurate planning and forecasting.
