Role Profile
We have an opportunity for a Ruminant Business Manager to join the team! Reporting to the Area Manager, the position has the responsibility of maintaining and developing sales with a list of key customers. The Business Manager acts as the primary link between Tirlán and our farmers and is accountable for the day-to-day relationships with a portfolio of farmers. The Business Manager is responsible for providing solutions to meet farmer needs including the direct sale of products, referral to retail or eCommerce channels, providing technical support, communicating new schemes and services. They are also responsible for account management activities for each farmer in their portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with a portfolio of farmers to understand their past, present and future feed, fertiliser, Veterinary, Dairy Hygiene or other farm input needs.
- Respond to requests for technical advice and seek specialist input from Technical Development as required.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve farm profitability, sustainability or milk quality
- Communicate results of forage and soil analysis (including nutrient management plans) to farmers
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate farm data on CRM including milk supply ambitions, sales, opportunities, complaints etc.
- Process orders for feed, fertiliser, Veterinary/other products, ensure delivery to farmer per agreed SLA.
- Provide input to Technical Development and Marketing on product / service portfolio development.
- Execute field marketing/promotional campaigns by communicating new offers, directed by Marketing.
- Manage monthly cash collection process.
- Drive farmer adoption of Tirlán schemes by communicating scheme details and resolving queries.
- Participate in area & regional representative structures.
- Collaborate with local Branch Managers to provide farmers with optimum services across channels.
- Attend and represent Tirlán at relevant customer/farmer facing events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Agriculture Science or higher is an advantage but not essential.
- An ability to be resilient in a competitive market.
- A strong knowledge of the technical elements across all categories of Animal Health.
- A strong working knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft and SAP with the ability to learn other systems.
- Strong sales and customer service background.
- Extensive experience in the agricultural industry with strong local market knowledge.
- Proven ability to execute against commercial plans and targets.
