About us:

The Tax Risk & Quality (R&Q) team is responsible for implementing the firm’s risk and quality compliance programme for the Tax Practice (over 750+ staff) on an ongoing basis. This incorporates annual training programmes, carrying out engagement compliance reviews and business unit reviews and supporting the tax practice with their R&Q and contracting queries.

The role:

We are looking to recruit a Tax R&Q senior manager with exceptional communication skills to work closely with the Tax R&Q Director implementing the firm’s annual risk and quality compliance programme for the Tax Department. Working out of the Dublin office, the R&Q senior manager will also be responsible for the following:-

  • Engagement with our Global Risk network

  • Implementation of Network Risk Management Policy (NRMP) updates

  • Leading Engagement Compliance Reviews (ECRs) and Business Unit Reviews

  • Facilitating essential training sessions across the department

  • Collating and distributing annual feedback to tax staff on R&Q Performance via Workday

  • Communications with the Tax practice on key R&Q issues

  • Monitoring controls and assisting with global reporting within the PwC Network.

  • Providing support to the Tax practice with R&Q queries throughout client engagements

  • Assisting engagement teams with contracting negotiations with clients

  • Collaborating closely with internal teams across the firm (Office of General Counsel, AML, Data Protection and Independence teams etc) on R&Q matters.

This role would provide an individual with the opportunity to understand the R&Q policies and procedures that are in place and the rationale behind these procedures. Working in a large firm with a global reach means that the team regularly interacts with teams across the firm’s different departments and as the need arises, other territories.

As PwC as a global network is on a digital agenda, our systems, technologies and procedures are constantly being updated so these developments afford our team the opportunity to upskill their digital skills. You will be working with a multitude of global systems like Salesforce, Workday, among others. 

As a Senior Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive industry experience, helping our engagement teams to carry out their R&Q procedures and to solve their queries. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the firm’s R&Q procedures

  • Embrace the digital transformation being undertaken in our business. Being motivated to familiarise yourself with these evolutions and to drive these technologies further in our day-to-day business.

  • Embrace changes in procedures arising as a result of changes in legislation and work with the Tax R&Q team to adopt any new globally rolled out technologies or systems

  • Assist in the ongoing management of internal relationships. 

  • Development of your own career. 

  • Train tax staff, promoting autonomy to make a difference and deliver results.
