Retail Marketing Specialist- This is not a digital marketing position; it is a traditional marketing position.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a sales focused Retail Marketing Specialist to drive foot traffic and sales growth for our stores. This role will focus on developing and executing local marketing strategies, including in-store displays, signage, community engagement, partnerships, and traditional media outreach. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of retail marketing principles and a proven track record of success in increasing store performance and an experience of managing a team.
Responsibilities:
- Your Primary focus is to Drive sales through marketing initiatives.
- Have demonstrable experience of driving Footfall through marketing initiatives.
- Have demonstrable experience of how marketing support enables sales advisors to increase sales and earn excellent commission in a target driven sales environment.
- Have demonstrable experience with examples and data as well as KPIs of how you have previously measured marketing initiatives in terms of increased sales.
- Have demonstrable experience of using different marketing tools to drive sales in different regions in Ireland, have an understanding of regional tastes and what marketing tools work best in our different sales regions.
- Develop and implement local marketing plans: Create and execute marketing campaigns tailored to individual store locations, considering demographics, competitive landscape, and seasonal trends.
- Manage in-store marketing materials: Design, produce, and distribute eye-catching and effective point-of-sale displays, signage, promotional materials and work with the merchandising team on in-store strategies.
- Build local partnerships: Identify and cultivate relationships with complementary businesses, community organizations, and local media to drive brand awareness and generate leads.
- Oversee traditional marketing initiatives: Utilize traditional marketing channels such as print advertising (newspapers, flyers), radio, and direct mail to reach target audiences.
- Collaborate with store teams: Work closely with store managers, staff, area managers, and merchandisers to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with store operations and sales goals.Conducting regular store visits to assess needs, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement in marketing execution.
- Analyse and report on marketing performance: Track key metrics such as foot traffic, sales conversions, and ROI to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make data-driven adjustments.
- Conduct competitor analysis: Regularly research and analyse competitor marketing activities, including pricing, promotions, advertising, and in-store strategies. Identify opportunities to differentiate our brand and gain a competitive edge. This includes regular store visits of competitors.
- Manage marketing budget: Develop and manage the local marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends: Continuously research and analyse retail marketing best practices and emerging trends to identify new opportunities for growth.
- People development, mentoring and training, driving personal and professional development initiatives for team members.
Qualifications and Experience
- A track record of increasing sales through marketing initiatives in a multi store retail environment.
- Proven experience in retail marketing, with a focus on driving foot traffic and sales.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant marketing software.
- Experience with budget management.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to extract actionable insights from sales and marketing data.
- Best in class people skills.
- People management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field desirable.
Desirable:
- Experience with local marketing partnerships and community engagement.
- Knowledge of local media landscape.
- Experience in the furniture industry.
- Proven experience working directly with retail stores or in a retail environment.
