Project Manager

Job Summary:

Vision Contracting Ltd. are expanding, and we are delighted to announce that we are now seeking a permanent full time Project Manager to join our organisation.

The successful candidate will be based across various projects within the Dublin area and become part of a growing and highly motivated team and will report directly to the Contracts Manager.

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with health and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction management, budgeting, and scheduling, with strong knowledge of Irish building regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Management:

  • Lead project planning sessions to determine scope, objectives, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Prepare and manage detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor progress against the project plan, making adjustments as needed to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Oversee procurement of materials and coordination with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure projects comply with all building regulations, permits, and health & safety requirements.

Budgeting and Financial Oversight:

  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking costs to ensure profitability.
  • Approve project expenditures and manage cash flow throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Team Leadership and Communication:

  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, architects, and local authorities, to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Conduct regular site meetings and provide updates to stakeholders on project status, risks, and progress.

Risk Management and Problem Solving:

  • Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive management and problem-solving strategies.
  • Address any unforeseen issues or delays that arise, implementing contingency plans when necessary.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are adhered to, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure all projects adhere to Irish construction regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for each project, including progress reports, financial reports, and safety audits.
  • Perform post-project evaluations and create comprehensive project reports to assess outcomes.

Key Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in construction project management.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale construction projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish building regulations, health & safety standards, and environmental compliance.

Key Skills:

  • Project Management Expertise: Proficient in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc.).
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience leading diverse project teams.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and authorities.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to manage project finances, including cost forecasting, budget management, and financial reporting.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and implement effective solutions.
  • Negotiation Skills: Competent in negotiating contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Health & Safety: In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices within the Irish construction industry.
