The Irish Times is looking for a dedicated and skilled Printer to join our City West Print Facility team. Job Purpose: To carry out all tasks and duties associated with printing to the highest standards.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Operate the Computer to Plate systems, including making plates and performing ancillary tasks.
  • Prepare the press for all productions, which includes cleaning heads and register control systems, writing programmes on Pecom and other systems, and loading and setting all components. Additionally, washing rollers is required.
  • Web up the press and preset folders as needed.
  • Maintain page registration, balance water and ink levels, and ensure that papers are produced to the required standards.
  • Remove all webs and leave the press in the correct condition for the next shift.
  • Fill out reports as required by overseers and managers.
  • Perform necessary maintenance on the press.
  • Carry out any additional duties as allocated by overseers and managers, appropriate to the printing role.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a printing role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Computer to Plate systems and press maintenance.
  • Ability to follow precise instructions and maintain high standards of quality.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
