Practice Manager

The Medical Centre located in Mallow Primary Healthcare Centre is inviting applications for the position of Practice Manager.

The practice team includes 7 GPs, 1 GP Registrar, 5 Practice Nurses, a Triage Nurse, and a Healthcare Assistant, along with an Office Manager and an administrative team of 6. The centre aims to provide efficient patient care and functions as a teaching practice.

Experience in a GP practice management role or similar, and familiarity with Socrates practice management software, is desirable. Candidates should possess strong people management skills and have experience leading and managing a team.

As Practice Manager, your typical day may include:

People

  • Leading the practice team to deliver a high-quality patient service.
  • Assigning roles and responsibilities to team members.
  • Coordinating admin rota and agreeing on leave cover to maintain adequate staff levels.

Patient Services

  • Managing access to appointments.
  • Maintaining and updating internal and external communications.
  • Handling complaints effectively.

Health & Safety

  • Ensuring all accidents and near misses are reported, investigated, and actions are closed.
  • Adhering to all practice policies and procedures as defined in the practice safety statement.
  • Providing training for staff in all relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Actively promoting a health and safety culture and ensuring it is a common goal.

Quality

  • Maintaining consistency in patient communications.
  • Ensuring housekeeping standards are upheld.
  • Ensuring practice compliance with GDPR.

Financials

  • Managing daily practice accounts, including patient fees collection.
  • Performing bank reconciliation and preparing income and expenditure reports.
  • Managing payroll.
  • State contracts management.
  • Maintaining stock levels and achieving value on procurement.

This role is full-time, and hours are flexible. The salary is dependent on previous experience and suitability. Free parking is available on-site. The practice is a 20-minute walk from public transport routes.
