Casual Pitch Steward
KEY PURPOSE
Responsible for setting up, supervising and closing down pitches and pavilions for bookings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Act as key holder for designated pitch/pavilion sites; ensure site is accessible for bookings in a timely manner.
2. Ensure full pitch set up to include: putting up and securing nets; setting out corner flags; setting out dug outs if available on site.
3. Conduct a dynamic risk assessment of the playing area; check and make pitch safe from foreign objects, dog dirt &/or holes.
4. Carry out regular housekeeping duties including: litter picking, emptying bins tidying of surrounding areas as required.
5. Ensure the highest possible standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained by carrying out routine caretaking and cleaning tasks as required; ensure the correct storage of cleaning products.
6. Ensure any faults and accidents/incidents are reported following bookings.
7. Ensuring all activity is signed off and submitted to the line manager
8. Assist customers with enquiries in a friendly and effective manner, proactively develop and maintain high standards of customer care.
9. Working as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
10. Follow the normal operating procedures of the facility and undertake staff training as required.
11. Participate in and ensure compliance with all Council policies and procedures and operate within the highest standards of personal behaviour which reflect the core values of the organisation.
12. Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety requirements and legislation in accordance with Council’s Policies and Procedures.
13. Comply with and actively promote the Council’s policies and procedures on all aspects of equality.
14. Undertake any other duties appropriate to scale, which may be required from time to time.
The Council therefore reserves the right to change the duties of the post by adding to or amending the range of responsibilities. The postholder will be required to be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs and requirements of the organisation.
Essential
One year’s demonstrable experience in each of the following:
· General cleaning and housekeeping duties
· Set up and dismantling equipment
· Dealing with the public
· Opening and closing a facility
Qualifications/Experience
Technical Competencies/Knowledge
· Working Knowledge and application of Health and Safety including inspection and monitoring
Other
Must have access to a form of transport to carry out the duties of the post
