Post: Personal/Care Assistant required by a professional disabled woman

Location: Dublin 8/City Centre

Hours of Work:

41 hours per week: 8pm on Monday night - 8am on Tuesday morning,

8pm on Thursday night - 8am on Friday morning and 8pm hours on Friday night – 2pm on Saturday afternoon.

Hourly rate: €13.70 - €17.00 per hour.

Reporting to: Eileen Daly

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A CARING OR A MEDICAL ROLE - Previous work-related experience is not essential.

An Independent Living Personal Assistant Is: “An individual contracted by the disabled person to provide them with the support they need in different aspects of daily living including, personal care and hygiene, domestic tasks, assistance at school, university, in the workplace, or when out and about”

.Duties and Responsibilities:·

Driving adapted van – applicant must be 25 years + for insurance purposes.

Please note: candidates who do not have a full clean driving licence will not be considered.

Assistance with cooking, cleaning, and household chores

·Accompaniment on social outings when required.

·Assistance with intimate personal care and hygiene

·Assistance with physical activities

·Assistance with the maintenance of my small garden

·Any other duties that may arise

Essential Competencies & Characteristics:

Demonstrate an willingness to learn.

Candidates must have a visa to work in Ireland

Candidates must have a full clean driving licence

Candidates must speak fluent English

·A degree of flexibility is required in this role.

·Be willing to take instructions and direction from a disabled person.

·To maintain and respect confidentiality at all times.

·To have clean personal habits

·To communicate openly at all times

·Demonstrate enthusiasm and diligence in relation to your role as a Personal Assistant

Must be reliable, friendly, good humoured, diligent, & conscientious

Havean ability to work on your own initiative when required.

Training will be provided if required.
