The Role:

The Transaction Services teams within Uisce Éireann Business Services are responsible for providing an effective and efficient service to the Uisce Éireann business in relation to Finance, HR, and Procurement transactional activities, in addition to a number of reporting and compliance activities for the Business Services unit as a whole

Reporting to the Payroll Technical Lead, the Payroll Co-Ordinator has responsibility for payroll processing for the staff of Uisce Éireann.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the processing of fortnightly Payroll for Irish Water staff 
  • Assisting with processing of expenses for employees in a timely manner and in-line with company policies
  • Issuing payslips and expense remittance advices
  • Manage staff and manager queries through Service Now in relation to Time, Absence and expenses on the MyWork system
  • Generate weekly timecards for all Uisce Eireann employees
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of physical to system timecards for all outdoor employees. Highlight discrepancies between both, reporting on same and provide resolution to ensure accurate pay.
  • Analyse timecard inconsistencies to determine root cause and solutions – align with entitlements as per employee records
  • Manage staff and manager queries through Service Now in relation to Time and Absence on the MyWork system
  • Manage the expense Auditor function within MyWork, monitoring compliance to Expense Policy
  • Perform payroll compliance checks on new joiners to Uisce Eireann
  • Proactively collaborate with the Payroll Leads and Compensation and Benefits team to use the capabilities of the payroll system to support strategic decisions and other related projects as needed
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement/implementation of best practices to improve performance
  • Working with the Compensation & Benefits team in relation to query resolution
  • Maintain standard operation procedures for all relevant activities
  • Support internal and external audit activities as required
  • Escalate and raise any issues as they arise
  • Other duties as required from time to time

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
  • Minimum 1 years’ payroll processing experience
  • Experience with Oracle Systems desirable
  • Experience of working in a business / transactional services environment an advantage
  • Ability to work with others to ensure success in the performance of a team
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Organisational, multi-tasking, and prioritising skills, with ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Proven effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and remain focused
  • Flexible with regards working in a changing environment and the ability to adjust to new work structures, processes, and requirements as necessary
  • Proactively identifying new areas of learning and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job
  • Striving for quality and ensuring consistent high standards of work
