What You’ll Do as a Paralegal
In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:

  • Assist in driving a robust brand protection strategy for managing and protecting Primark’s brand and associated portfolio of trademark rights globally in line with Primark’s ambitious growth plans.
  • Provide support and assistance in the development and implementation of IP strategy to effectively manage existing and emerging risks in line with the organisation's overall business strategy.
  • Assist with management of the Primark trademark portfolio, including renewals, registration applications, trademark searches and billing queries.
  • Provide support and assistance on all aspects of IP search and clearance across the Primark portfolio together with any associated IP disputes and litigation arising from the protection of the Primark brands and products globally, in partnership with the Senior Legal Counsel, relevant stakeholders and, where necessary, with the support of external counsel.
  • Contribute to the IP training and reporting strategy across Primark, including team reports, quarterly reports to the Primark Board and parent company, and end of year report.
  • Provide rigorous, proactive and commercially sensible legal advice, guidance and counsel to stakeholders within Primark.

What You’ll Bring

  • Paralegal/Legal Executive with at least 3 years previous experience in IP in the contentious and non-contentious space with a particular focus on trademarks, copyright and designs, and IP litigation.
  • Be a commercial, assertive and diplomatic advisor who has excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinker to enable stakeholders to make decisions that are grounded in a practical application of law and business goals.
  • Experience in managing a trademark portfolio is highly preferred. Must be capable of applying a rigorous legal interpretation without compromising the business.
  • Must be a team player with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
