There is currently a permanent, whole-time Speech and Language Therapist – Staff Grade vacancy available in the Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise, Speech and Language Therapy Department.
A panel may be created from this campaign for a Speech and Language Therapist – Staff Grade from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full-time or part-time duration may be filled.

Purpose of the Post:
The Speech and Language Therapist – Staff Grade will be responsible for the provision of a high quality, person-centred Speech and Language Therapy service to a designated clinical area(s) and will carry out clinical and educational duties as assigned by the Senior Speech and Language Therapist / Speech and Language Therapist Manager.
Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications and / or Experience:
1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
(a) Candidates must have at the latest date of application: -
(i) Be registered, or be eligible for registration, as a Speech and Language Therapist by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
AND
(ii) Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
AND
(iii) Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Speech & Language Therapist Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
2. Annual Registration
(i) On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Speech & Language Therapists Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
AND
(ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
3. Health
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
4. Character
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
