An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Member Services Officer to join our team for a fixed term period of 9 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an excellent standard of service to members of Monaghan Credit Union and performing a range of supporting duties.

General Scope of the Role

Successful candidates will be required to provide professional, friendly & efficient front-line services to members through a variety of channels. You will be responsible for carrying out a range of administrative & operational activities that contribute to delivering a quality service to members and to the effective running of the Credit Union

Main Purpose of the Role

The position will require you to assist members with all aspects of Credit Union Business while working as part of a team to provide administration and support in dealing with :

  • Providing services to members including lodgements, withdrawals, foreign exchange transactions and loan repayments.
  • Accurately and competently handling cash; reconciling cash balances daily.
  • Assisting members and providing details on the range of services offered by the credit union.
  • Updating member information and ensuring the database is maintained to a high standard.
  • Scanning and filing and other administrative tasks.
  • Participate in periodic project work in support of wider objectives across the organisation.
  • Ensure compliance with existing and new systems & controls, and policies & procedures necessary, as outlined by the Risk, Compliance, MLRO & DPO, the Internal Audit Function and Operations Mgr.
  • To undertake such other reasonable and lawful duties as may be directed from time to time by your supervisor.
  • Undertake relevant training as deemed necessary by the credit union.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent administration skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience of cash handling.
  • Experience working in a role within a credit union or similar financial institution ideal, but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Experience in reporting with some financial analysis skills.
  • Ability to use discretion and sensitivity in dealing with members.
  • Demonstrate self-initiative while working within the ethos of the credit union.
  • Strong teamwork ability.

Details of the role:

Fixed Term Contract for a 9 - month period.

The role will be based between our Monaghan and Ballybay offices in line with the needs of the business.

The position is full-time Monday to Saturday with a day off during the week.

Friday includes a late shift on alternative weeks, 9.00 am-5.30 pm or 12.00 pm-8.30 pm.

Salary: Available on Request.

The successful candidate will be required to satisfy the minimum competency requirements as set out in the Central Bank Guidelines, (QFA/CUA(Loans)/APA in Loans/Pathways CU Diploma/ACCUP). The Credit Union will provide financial support for the successful candidate to obtain this qualification if they do not have it currently.
