Medical Administrative Assistant

Full-Time Medical Administrative Assistant required to work as part of a dedicated team in a well-established GP medical practice in Dublin 1.
- Full-Time position, working Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm, no weekends.
- Permanent contract available pending successful probationary period of 6 months.
- Applicant must possess strong administration skills.
- Essential that applicants have the ability to exercise initiative and to work in an organised and methodical manner whilst handling multiple priorities. Following up on reports, emails, calls etc.
- Experience working for an essential public service provider is an advantage, especially ones in healthcare or social care.
- Strong computer skills are essential for this role. Prior experience of using an appointments booking system or practice management software is desirable.
- Need to posses excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion when interacting with patients.
- Have a strong ethos of confidentiality.
- Must be able to work well and effectively with others as part of a team in order to provide an excellent standard of care to patients.

Duties include:
- Dealing with all inbound and outbound queries
- Scheduling appointments
- Ability to pay a high level of attention to detail with accurate input
- Updating patient records and scanning documents
- Preparing prescriptions and arranging referrals
- Responding to emails promptly
- Processing card and cash payments and end of day reconciliation
- Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the reception, waiting areas and surgery facilities
- Completion of documents and claiming those such as social welfare and insurance forms
- Billing debtors and following up unpaid fees
- Responding and following up on behalf of doctors requests
