Maintenance Assistant

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the purpose of this role is to assist with both planned and ad-hoc general maintenance issues that arise across the hotel and estate.

It is a busy and diverse role encompassing many tasks, the successful candidate should be a fast learner and have the ability to multi-task.

This is a full-time permanent position. The working hours for this role are 40 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday, 8.30am – 5.00pm.

Main duties include (but are not limited to:)

  • Conduct daily and weekly checks of water features, sewerage plant and oil levels
  • Answer intercom/phone and attend to deliveries when required
  • Assist with general maintenance issues in guest bedrooms and general hotel areas as required
  • Preparation of timbers logs for house use
  • Assist the maintenance manager to carry out all work necessary in maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure golf buggies are maintained and safe to use
  • Painting and repairing items throughout the house and estate as required
  • Identify and report the need for ad-hoc repairs
  • Maintain the workshop and maintenance stores areas in a tidy condition at all times.
  • Ensure our maintenance application is kept up to date at all times

Skills/Experience required

  • Have a basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical wiring
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Quick learner
  • Full Irish Drivers licence is required (ability to drive tractor is advantageous)
  • To be a self-motivated maintenance technician and continuously strive for self-improvement.
