If you wish to join our team here in CEG we are seeking applications for an IT Research Skills on our Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care in one of our four colleges, Progressive College. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for their subject and an ability to instil and encourage the same in their students.

Teaching experience is a preference for this position which is available on a part-time basis:

· Online Blended Learning

· 6 Hours of Direct Teaching and 18 Hours of Directed Online Teaching – Live Sessions timetabled

· Semester: February – May 2025

· Expected start date: Classes start on the 24th of February – start date for position will be the start of February to prepare for classes.

Module aims and objectives

Module Aims:

The module aims to facilitate learners in engaging with essential IT research skills and critically examine, in the context of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC), related issues and terminology used.

Module Objectives:

The objectives of this module are to enable the learner to:

· Use varied sources to access and cite research on ECEC online

· Learn how to generate and interpret basic statistical and qualitative data

· Understand the hierarchy of evidence and quality in ECEC research

· Understand effect-size, significance, efficacy and power as these terms relate to research in ECEC

Module Content:

· Researching Early Childhood Education and Care

· Evidence Hierarchy and Quality in Research

· Basic Statistics

· Thematic Coding

· Research Terminology and Related Challenges

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

· Subject Matter/Industry Certified/Qualified - Level 9 or higher with a background in research

· Ability to Communicate effectively both orally and in writing

· Excellent Presentation, I.T. and Interpersonal skills

· Proactive approach to supporting and developing others with a demonstrate-able interest in learner employability, activation, and progression

· Previous experience delivering training
