Laboratory Technician

Irish Drilling Ltd, Part of the RSK Group has a vacancy for a Laboratory Technician at the Soil and Rock Testing Facility in Loughrea, Co.Galway.

This is an additional, full time, permanent position (subject to 6 months’ probation) with immediate start due to the increasing volume of testing.

Irish Drilling Ltd. is a Site Investigation and Geotechnical Services company with over 35 years of experience in the industry. Having recently been acquired by the RSK group, further opportunities are opening up and the soil and rock testing laboratory is getting busier.

Key Responsibilities.

Testing of samples involves the sorting, preparation and testing of samples and reporting of results.

Physical work, handling samples of bags of soil and core boxes with rock samples

Good understanding of the importance of following safety instructions and standard test methods

Accurate recording of sample and test details

Willingness to work on one’s own initiative and in a team

Ability to keep equipment working in optimum condition

Person Specification

Enthusiastic worker with demonstrable relevant experience

Technical level qualifications in Science /

Engineering

Computer literacy for data input and reporting

Team player with flexible attitude

Ability to commute to Loughrea, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm
