Overview  Based in Wexford and reporting to the Site Quality Head, the role will involve working with a dedicated team to carry out a range of analyses of food products. The successful candidate will be based in the laboratory at Wexford.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of dairy products including milk, cheese, whey, utilities, using approved analytical methods;
• Sample management: sampling, receipt, preparation and dispatch to external labs;
• Performing Quality assurance activities e.g. inspections, audits, documentation review at plant;
• Successful implementation and participation in internal and external proficiency testing;
• Use of LIMS to carry out all lab activities incl. sampling, results entry and download;
• Review and maintain documentation of lab investigations as part of the Tirlán CAPA programme;
• Adherence to the Good Lab Practices and Health / Safety standards;
• Completion of other Quality and food safety related business needs as/if they occur.

Requirements

• Third level qualification in Science or a related discipline;
• Experience of lab work in food industry;
• Experience of LIMS and statistical data analysis;
• Proficiency in MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• A strong communicator and ability to work effectively as part of a team;
• An ability to interpret test data and problem-solving skills;
• Good organisational ability;
• Desire to do further relevant training and improvement;
• Proven ability to work with own initiative and within a team.
