Junior Estimator (Construction Industry)

Join the dynamic team at Cleantech Civils as an Estimator and play a crucial role in shaping a sustainable future. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced professional to provide accurate cost estimates for groundbreaking projects in the civils sector. The Estimator’s role is to lead estimates for civil engineering works in accordance with Company estimating systems and procedures, working with other members of tender teams to develop customer solutions and secure sufficient work by value and type to meet the company's objectives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

· Undertake estimates in accordance with Company procedures.

· Identify opportunity and risk during the tender process.

· Maintain tender estimate file.

· Obtain feedback from site teams on estimating adequacy and current costs.

· Include sending/receiving sub-contractor / supplier enquiries.

· Taking-off drawings/schedules.

· Liaison with sub-contractors, consultants, clients, and project managers.

· Applying mark ups.

· Attending hand over meetings to finalise tenders and site visit.

· Ensuring that the Integrated Management System conforms to the requirements of the International Standard for ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 & ISO45001.

· Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organisation.

· Prepare estimating handover packs.

· Provide on-going support to site teams relating to estimate and key assumptions of pricing structure.

· To train and mentor junior members of staff re: the estimating function.

· To support the Tender Manager with bid preparations, including methodologies and programmes.

Selection Criteria / Person Specification:

· Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience on complex, large-scale selective projects.

. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

· Experience in water, sewer and civils.

· Proven track record of successful bidding on projects.

· Strong computer skills with particular expertise in MS Office, especially Excel / 365 Sharepoint.

· Excellent Client relationship skills.

· Ability to ensure all tender submissions are both feasible and profitable.

· Excellent communication skills.
