Job Description & Summary

In our Business Enablement Solutions department, the Tech Central team provides support to the Tax, Assurance and Advisory practices in advising on and in implementing the correct technology solutions and helping them to design and execute the correct technology strategy. This makes for a dynamic working environment where no two projects are the same.

Purpose-led work you’ll be part of

As a Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage a team of developers on work deliverables.

  • Understanding the business issues of our clients and determining what are the opportunities for technology to form part of the solution to those issues.

  • Identifying the appropriate technology solutions and designing, developing and implementing those solutions.

  • Liaising with other departments.

  • Project coordination within the team.

  • Support the line of service technology and transformation teams dedicated market offerings as appropriate.

  • Work with client teams to deliver and manage to deliver and manage IT/process projects/automation projects.

  • Support engagement teams use of technologies to improve efficiencies.

  • Liaise with PwC’s central IT teams to deliver value added services and support.

  • Support and report directly to senior management.

  • Proposing, defining and documenting reusable solutions and fixes.

  • Supporting and testing new/upgrades software and hardware.

  • Creating statistics on usage of various applications.

  • Documenting technical and risk documentation. Document procedures for incident resolution.

Experiences and skills 

  • 3rd level computer degree in ICT area. 

  • Minimum 5 years experience operating at the senior support level.

  • Project coordination experience.

  • Knowledge and experience of using a formal Project Management methodology (eg. Six Sigma, Prince2 ) would be very advantageous

  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities.

  • Excellent customer management & interpersonal skills.

  • Supervisory skills.

  • Time Management skills.

  • Ability to adapt to change.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

Technical Knowledge

 The following experience\skills would be advantageous :

  • Programming skills in strong Python, Java, Visual Basic, VBA, Office Script or Google AppScript.

  • Microsoft Power Platform and/or Azure resources like Logic App or Function App skills are advantageous.

  • Familiar with Robotic Process Automation tools like UiPath, Power Automate, Automation Anywhere or Blue Prism.

  • Experience of data science tools like Alteryx, Dataiku or Databricks.

  • Knowledge of data visualisation software such as Power BI, Tableau or Qlik.

  • Effectively managing code using Git and Azure DevOps.

  • Basic understanding of database technologies, like MS SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or MS Access databases.
