Individualised Support Worker

Care Assistant (Disability Services) as per the HSE consolidated payscales.

Full Time

  • 78 hour fortnight
  • Shift work position including night duty

Cope Foundation is recruiting individuals to support a man and a woman through an individualised support service.

The successful applicants will be supporting a man and women separately within their own home, as part of a team and in partnership with their natural support network.

The following are essential requirements for the position:

  • Relevant experience in individualised ways of working, through a rights-based lens
  • A relevant qualification (minimum QQI level 5 major award)
  • Experience of supporting a person with an intellectual disability and behaviours that challenge
  • Ability to discover the individual’s abilities and interests in order to support them develop and sustain positive social valued roles within their communities
  • Ability to offer supports in a creative, innovative, flexible and person-centred way
  • Support the creation of new opportunities with these individuals through an ongoing discovery process
  • To have excellent interpersonal, listening, planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to partner and liaise effectively with others
  • A willingness to be flexible with working hours, based on the individuals support requirements
  • The support requirements will include all activities of daily and domestic support within their home

Desirable:

  • A full, clean, current driving licence
  • Experience in Mental Health
