Indirect Tax Manager

As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and driven Indirect Tax Manager to join our growing tax team. This role is based in our Head Office in Dublin city Centre.
The Role:
Led by the Head of Tax, Dunnes Stores is building a tax centre of excellence to proactively help the business grow whilst also meeting the increasing digital legislation demands being set at an international level. The Indirect Tax Manager will play a key part in building the Dunnes Stores tax centre of excellence by:
- Becoming a trusted advisor across retail sectors within the business.
- Guiding tax automation and tax governance for the future needs.
- Working collaboratively with other tax and technology colleagues to ensure Dunnes Stores is approaching the digital era internationally in a cohesive and adaptable manner.
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitoring international legislative changes that may impact Dunnes Stores.
- Offering business tax technical support and building trusted partnerships.
- Adapting and monitoring tax data governance procedures.
- Driving continuous improvements including setting requirements for automation and digital reporting capabilities.
- Increasing efficiency and effectiveness to positively contribute strategic value to the business.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Keeping up to date with legislation, regulations, guidance, and interpretations through case law for all jurisdictions where Dunnes Stores trade and providing the Head of department with regular updates.
- Creating tax requirements documentation for legislative changes or business projects for systems or process changes required and project engagement to completion.
- Ensuring ongoing compliance and maintenance of systems and processes required for digital legislation and auditing purposes.
- Supporting and maintaining all documentation required to meet Tax Control Framework requirements.
- Developing accurate, complete, and timely automated reports for VAT by providing clear requirements to the areas responsible for data capture, tax configuration, and report development.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of people, process, and technology to meet indirect tax obligations.
- Monitoring thresholds for online sales of goods globally for registration obligations and VAT treatment considerations.
- Assisting with ITX registrations and certifications across various jurisdictions.
- Supporting the Head of Tax in providing clear guidance and governance to all business areas of their obligations in relation to VAT and other indirect taxes. Monitoring to ensure they are meeting these obligations.
- Ensuring appropriate segregation of duties for data preparation, analysis, review, and approvals when engaging with the business on tax matters.
- Seeking approval from shareholders for all prioritized changes, submissions, and payments necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
To apply for this role you must be a Qualified or part qualified AITI, CTA, or equivalent. You must also have Indirect Tax experience.
The following skills and experience are preferred:
- Experience working on digital legislation implementation projects.
- Spanish language.
- International VAT/GST experience.
- Experience providing tax technical advice.
- Compliance/VAT accounting.
- ERP (Oracle) tax configurations.
