Job Summary
​​​​​Job Title: Trainee Junior 3D Modeller
Contract Length: 12 months 
Start Date: September 2024 
Hours: 37.5hrs per week 
Salary: Real Living Wage (currently £12.00 per hour) 
Location: Belfast​​​​​​​

A Trainee 3D Junior Modeller is responsible for any modelling requirements across all of Humain’s productions and research and development. They are responsible for creating photorealistic, high quality 3D organic models to be used in production. They must be able to follow direction and complete work in an efficient manner.

You will have an understanding of geometry topology to ensure good deformations during animation ie, an understanding of traditional art skills: form, anatomy, topology and colour theory. You have a strong sense of scale, form, weight and volume plus attention to detail when finalising and quality control assets. You have strong communication and organisational skills.

Essential Criteria:
  • At least one year experience using Maya, ZBrush and Photoshop software
  • A portfolio or body of work demonstrating modelling skills
  • Working knowledge of UV Mapping and using 2D reference
Desirable Criteria:
  • Ideally a degree in animation or a closely related subject
  • Working knowledge of Substance Painter software
  • Strong drawing skills and understanding colour theory
  • Experience of working with scanned data
  • Working knowledge of the Facial Action Coding System and its use in animation
