Role/ Department:
The HR Advisor acts as a partner to managers and individual contributors by providing professional HR support to relevant internal client groups. Consults with management regarding the interpretation and application of corporate human resources programs. Builds and maintains an advisor relationship with managers and delivers Human Resource solutions that effectively address business issues and needs. Ensures compliance with all employment and labor laws. The focus of this role is primarily on day-to-day risk mitigation, providing tactical and operational guidance on the administration of HR policies and programs
Job responsibilities will vary and, the Advisor will be able to demonstrate prioritization of multiple assignments and can easily be rotated or reassigned in order to balance the workload within the team.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Consults with managers on a variety of employment related situations and partners with managers on change initiatives with people impacts.
- Acts as a liaison between the line, HR Business Partners and other HR functions to ensure that HR services are coordinated with internal client needs.
- Provides guidance and leadership to managers and partners on dispute resolution, disciplinary action, regulatory compliance, problem solving, reductions in force and litigation avoidance.
- Supports the implementation of HR programs (career planning, performance management, etc.) and coaches managers in supporting a culture committed to employee engagement, development and growth.
- Ensures compliance on HR-related company guidelines and policies, as well as compliance with all regional, country, local and company regulations.
- Maintains an awareness of, and partners with Talent Acquisition to help achieve a high quality, diverse talent pipeline
- Participates in process improvement initiatives for the function, and may participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives
- Handles highly sensitive, confidential work
- May serve on or lead projects.
Skills/ Qualifications:
- A college or university degree and/or relevant proven work experience
- Solid understanding of risk associated with employment law
- Consulting, interpersonal, teamwork, communication, and client service skills.
- Experience working with clients in multiple jurisdictions advantageous
- Exceptional ability to organize and execute responsibilities.
