Job Title: Hospital Attendant

Hours: 39 hours per week

Role Profile

This role is important to our patients it provides a high standard of personal service to them and staff in Blackrock Clinic through efficient and courteous portering and distribution system within our facility. Our Attendants are personal and professional to patients.

The some aspects of the role:

  • Movement of all patients who require assistance in the Hospital along with their belongings
  • Preparation of rooms for conferences, functions, lectures, meetings etc.
  • Efficient movement of patient files, X-rays, pharmacy lists and laboratory reports internally
  • Collaboration with nursing, physiotherapy, radiography, cardiology and other staff
  • Management of mail system which includes collection, delivery and franking
  • Cleaning and maintenance of all equipment, including wheelchairs
  • Meeting and greeting patients and answering calls in the reception area.
  • Provide extra support to the receptionist front desk for lunch cover during the weekends
  • The attendants are a customer facing role, they deal with patients who may be stressed or uncomfortable and so empathy and kindness are keys to the role.
