HIPE Clinical Coder

The HIPE Section is responsible for provision of information to the Department of Health (DoH), Health Services Executive (HSE), Healthcare Pricing Office (HPO) and Hospital Management. This information underpins Activity Based Funding, and is at the foundation of Patient Level Costing, Budgeting, Planning of Services, Hospital Performance, Research and for the production of National Statistics.

Job Purpose:

The Clinical Coder is responsible for the accurate and timely coding of the episode of care applying the ICD-10-AM Codes & ACHI with the Irish and Australian Coding Standards. To assist with data quality initiatives and to mentor and assist in the training of Clinical coders.
