Health and Safety Officer

EZ Living Furniture was founded in Galway in 1998. We are a family run Irish retailer operating nationwide, as well as a full online shopping experience offering delivery throughout Ireland. We are the largest independent Furniture Retailer in Ireland employing over 380 people.

We are looking for a Health and Safety Officer to co ordinate and manage Health and Safety Initiatives in all sites. This is a Nationwide role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and support safety initiatives, accident investigation, site walks, audits, and training needs.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits across all collection and site-based activities, implementing corrective measures.
• Ensure robust safe systems of work for employees, including manual handling, vehicle safety, and PPE requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines for all collection activities and maintenance operations.
• Conduct regular H&S checks and audits, assisting with accident/incident investigations, and organising safety training sessions.
• Maintain safety and training records, ensuring compliance and scheduling refresher training as required.
• Report on KPI metrics and implement actions to improve safety performance.
• Interpret and advise on the implementation of H&S Legislation, staying abreast of relevant legislative changes.
• Keeping all H/S processes up to date.
• Training and Educating all staff in Health and Safety.

Experience, Skills & Education:

• Professional qualification in Health and Safety (IOSH, NEBOSH).
• Expert knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
• Strong commitment to safety culture and process improvement.
• Experience in auditing, inspecting, and managing health and safety in a multi-site environment.
• Knowledge of fire safety and risk assessments.
