Job Summary
The Head of Outdoor Leisure will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Director of Healthy Living in developing and implementing the relevant Council strategies, within their areas of responsibility. In this capacity, the post-holder will provide clear direction and support to their section(s). They will be responsible for the effective management of services that come under their control in the pursuit of service excellence and value for money. The postholder will support transformational change within the Directorate / Section ensuring and implementing integration of new and current functions and responsibilities. They will assist in the delivery of high quality services across the Department by using performance management to drive continuous improvement and by effectively using the Council’s resources.
Hours of work
36 hours per week.
The post holder must be prepared to work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and Public and extra Statutory Holidays for which the appropriate payment will be made or time in lieu granted if relevant.
Duration of Appointment
Permanent.
Work Pattern
Flexi 36 hours Monday to Friday.
Hours of work are kept under review and may change in order to meet operational requirements, providing requisite notice.
Location
Location is Down Leisure Centre, Downpatrick or Newry Leisure Centre, Newry. Whilst the current vacant post is based in Down Leisure Centre, Downpatrick or Newry Leisure Centre, Newry suitable candidates who are placed on a reserve list may be offered a similar post in other Council locations. The post holder may be required to transfer to other locations in accordance with any requirements stated in the Job Description, any reviews of service delivery or other requirements as may arise from time to time. Any amendments made to work location will be implemented following appropriate consultation and provision of reasonable notice.
Salary
PO6 SCP 42-45 currently £51,802 - £54,971 per annum based on a 36 hour week (pro rata to hours worked).
