Geomatic Surveyor

The Role 

As a Geomatic Surveyor, you will play a vital role across the building compliance team, working with other areas of the business when required. You will uphold the highest standards when ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards for land surveying and geospatial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct basic topographic, boundary and construction surveys using Trimble GPS and total stations kit.
  • Conduct measured building surveys and broth range of as-built surveys with various reality capture equipment including drone surveys and photogrammetry (not essential).
  • Utilise SCC and CAD software to process survey data and generate accurate spatial representations.
  • Registration of the point cloud in Leica BLK software and ability to produce 2D drawings from the point cloud.
  • Produce digital and paper-based land registry maps according to current guidelines.
  • Prepare assignable area floor plans along with technical report.
  • Analyse and interpret geospatial data for land development, infrastructure, and environmental projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and planners to provide accurate measurements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards for land surveying and geospatial analysis (IPMS).
  • Maintain and calibrate calibration is done by external company survey equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Conduct site visits and fieldwork.
  • Keep up to date with advancements in geomatics technology and best practices.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Geography, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification or membership in a recognized surveying body (e.g., RICS, SCSCI, CICES, FIG) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in surveying equipment such as GPS, total stations, reality capture equipment and drones (not essential).
  • Strong knowledge of GIS, CAD, and survey processing software (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Trimble, BLK Register or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in various conditions. 
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to use your own vehicle in the event of all feet vans are booked on the day of the survey.
