General Operative
About the role
We have a great opportunity for a General Operative to join our Team in Kerry Carrigaline, Co. Cork.
The position is full-time, permanent with 12 hours shifts, rotating days and nights. Overtime is possible. It is a varied role, mainly focused on production. It will be ideal for candidates with previous manufacturing experience, who are technically minded, eager to engage in continuous improvement initiatives and open to cross-train in other departments.
Where will you work?
Our Kerry site in Carrigaline specialises in the production and distribution of enzymes and brewing ingredients for a global market. Set in a quiet, green area, the site is conveniently located near a bus station, making it a 30-minute journey from Cork city. There is also an onsite parking.
What will you do?
Your responsibilities as a General Operative will include:
- Operational Compliance: Conducting operations in accordance with established procedures.
- Safety and Environmental Standards: Complying with safety and environmental regulations.
- Performance Targets: Adopting a proactive approach to meet performance targets.
- Operating the Filtration Plant: Running the filtration plant efficiently and safely.
- Forklift: Ensuring the safe and effective operation of forklift trucks.
- Documentation: Finalising necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
- Cleanliness: Keeping production areas clean and organized.
- Training: Engaging in training programs. Gaining a solid understanding of relevant plant equipment, piping systems, and services. Being open to cross-training and adapting to work in various departments as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Pursuing continuous improvement in daily tasks and responsibilities.
- Flexibly Across Departments: The role is initially based in the Liquids Department, with the potential to work in other areas as required.
What do you need to be successful?
- Previous experience in a manufacturing production environment is required. Preferably in a highly automated manufacturing facility.
- Experience and certificate for forklift truck (counterbalance) is desirable.
- Leaving certificate or equivalent is required.
- Third level certificate in engineering/production (e.g. QQI/FETAC level 5) in desirable.
- Good teamworking and communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- An energetic person, willing to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Computer literate – Word, Excel, email, SAP.
