The role is positioned within the Capital Markets Fist Line Assurance Team. In Capital Markets, we put our customers first. We work with energy and commitment to help them realise their ambitions. The Capital Markets Assurance team is designed to support embedding best in class culture of risk awareness and risk management, through the delivery of consistent and risk led assurance activities across the segment. The Team executes first line assurance activities in line with the AIB Group Assurance Methodology and First Line Assurance Framework, to ensure that key business risks are defined and documented and mitigating business controls are designed and operating effectively.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Demonstrate a very good understanding of auditing/assurance principles.
  • Lead assurance assignments by assessing the design and effectiveness of key controls, identifying exceptions and agreeing factual accuracy with the business.
  • Communicate identified issues to the business and agree on detailed action plans, leading to improvement of control environment.
  • Support management to identify assurance requirements, assurance reviews and inputs into the annual assurance plan.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of AIB’s Risk Control Assessment process and assurance methodologies.
  • Be a self-starter with ability to work on own initiative with strong attention to detail, completing tasks to a very high degree of accuracy.
  • Work well with stakeholders, including local business management team officials.

What you will bring:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask, to prioritize and complete work effectively and to tight deadlines.
  • Experience in leading controls testing / quality assurance testing and reporting results.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Relevant qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, QFA, etc).
