The Role

The Financial Accountant will oversee the company’s day to day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, month-end close processes and compliance with accounting standards. The role requires a detail-oriented individual. 

Monday to Friday from 9:00-17:00, office based

Location Loughrea, Co Galway

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of key financial information including financial analysis, projections, budgets and variances. (weekly and monthly)
  • Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation, analysis and posting of journals at month end.
  • Preparation and analysis of balance sheet reconciliations at month end.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards.
  • Enhancement of existing processes and development of new ones to ensure the most efficient completion of duties.
  • Tracking of KPI’s across the business
  • Responsible for budgeting and cash forecasting
  • Develop a close working relationship with the wider finance team to provide support as needed
  • Coordinate statutory audits
  • Oversee various finance team members
Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA,CIMA, ACCA)
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 1-2 years relevant post qualification experience.
  • Proven experience of managing a finance team and driving best practice
  • Proven experience in managing compliance with Internal Control systems and IFRS
  •  Ability to prioritise work in a fast moving environment
  • SAP/Sage/NAV or other major ERP Systems experience is desirable.
