The role is part of a small team but gives the successful candidate the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of the finance operations of the Agency.

Role OverviewThe Finance Coordinator role is essential in delivering efficient and high-quality financial administration to the Finance Team at Screen Ireland. This role manages core finance functions, including accounts payable and receivable, staff expenses, general ledger updates, and bank and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Screen Ireland’s policies. The position contributes to monthly management reporting by supporting budget creation and cash flow forecasting, and assists in compiling data related to the organisation’s carbon footprint. Key duties also include accurate data entry in Sage 200 and other financial databases, assisting with internal audit preparations, and managing daily finance activities, including purchase orders and maintaining organised filing systems. Additionally, the role requires proactive support with ad hoc finance tasks, contributing to streamlined processes and maintaining updated financial records across various management information systems. This position plays a crucial role in upholding Screen Ireland’s financial policies and procedures, supporting the broader finance function effectively and efficiently.
Function OverviewThe Finance Function at Screen Ireland is responsible for strategic financial planning, budget management, and robust financial controls to support Screen Ireland's goals. This function ensures the accuracy of financial statements and compliance with public sector standards, overseeing the preparation of statutory accounts and regular financial reports. It also oversees audit processes, liaises with public authorities, and fosters a culture of accountability and financial responsibility throughout the agency. The function is focused on continuous improvement, optimises financial workflows, enhances systems, and strengthens the internal control environment. Additionally, it fosters a collaborative team culture, supporting professional growth and aligning financial practices with organisational strategy to sustain Screen Ireland's mission.
Position Profile and Key Responsibilities- Provide high quality and efficient support to the Finance Team in the overall administration of:
- Support in creating monthly management information, including budgets and cashflow forecasts.
- Compile data regarding Screen Ireland’s carbon footprint.
- Input data into databases and accounting software Sage 200, ensuring its accuracy.
- Update financial spreadsheets or reports as required by the Head of Finance and Finance Executive.
- Assist in the preparation of audit files for internal audits and C+AG.
- Assist with day-to-day finance activities and handle ad hoc duties.
- Maintain general office filing systems.
- Efficiently handle the purchase order system.
- Update other management information systems with financial data and information.
- Adhere to Screen Ireland’s finance policies and procedures.
- Perform other finance-related tasks as necessary.
- A minimum of two years' experience in a comparable position is required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent administration, organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent IT Skills including Office 365, accounting system software.
- A good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills,
- Must be able to work to challenging deadlines and work on own initiative. Experience in the delivery of projects.
- Willingness to learn and take ownership in routine practices.
- Ability to work and contribute positively and effectively towards team and organisational objectives.

Desirable Attributes- A relevant third level qualification in finance/accountancy.
- Experience in a similar role using accounting systems such as Sage 200 professional.
- Irish language proficiency is desirable.
- Previous experience working in the Film and TV Sector is an advantage.

Particulars of the Position- This position is at the Executive Officer level and is remunerated at €36,544 per annum. This role will be filled in line with Public Pay Policy at the first point of this Salary Scale unless the successful candidate is appointed from an existing public sector role. Application of 1 October 2024 pay adjustments.
- This position is a permanent full-time position.
- The successful candidate will be required to sign the Screen Ireland Code of Conduct.
- The role will have a 6-month probation period.
- Will report directly to the Finance Executive. This role may also report to the Head of Finance, Governance, Risk and Compliance.
- The post will be based in Galway.
- Annual leave (excluding bank holidays) of 23 days.
- Start Date as soon as possible.
Citizenship Requirement Eligible candidates must be:
- A citizen of the European Economic Area (EEA). The EEA consists of the Member States of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway;
- A citizen of the United Kingdom (UK);
- A citizen of Switzerland pursuant to the agreement between the EU and Switzerland on the free movement of persons; or A non-EEA citizen who has a stamp 4 visa1 or a stamp 5 visa. To qualify candidates must be eligible by the date of any job offer.
