Electrical Technician
Based at The Irish Times Print Facility, Citywest
Contract: 3-Year Fixed Term
Report to: Engineering Manager
The Irish Times, Ireland’s leading quality newspaper and digital media platform, is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our dynamic Engineering Team at our state-of-the-art Print Facility in Citywest.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-performance, fast-paced production environment where The Irish Times and other major publications are printed.
Key Responsibilities:
- We are looking for a motivated and experienced technician with a strong track record in:
- Electrical maintenance
- Electronic engineering
- Control systems and network technology
- Supporting high-volume production operations
You will be part of a skilled and collaborative team, responsible for the day-to-day technical support of critical production systems, including:
- Printing press and mailroom dispatch systems
- Laser imaging and vision systems
- Siemens S5 & S7 PLC control systems
- InterBus / ProfiBus control systems
- PC support and networking
- Closed-loop speed control systems
Candidate Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Electronics, or
- Fully qualified Electrician with experience in electronics and IT
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work variable shifts, with a focus on evening and night shifts
