Electrical/C&I Maintenance Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and part of the Maintenance team, this is principally a hands on” role with responsibility for the day to day maintenance of instrumentation and electrical equipment at Tynagh Power Station.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Routine calibration of instruments and Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS)
  • Fault diagnosis and repair of instrumentation and CEMS equipment
  • Utilise a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Implement Reliability based maintenance best practices.
  • Organisation of electrical or instrument maintenance and associated contractor supervision.
  • Update and maintain all pertinent quality documents.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Adherence to all Environmental Health and Safety requirements and participation in all activities.
  • Adherence to all Quality requirements and participation in all activities.
  • Be on call out of hours to support emergency work.
  • Support and participate in all outage activities.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Electrical or Instrumentation craft qualification, Certificate, Diploma or Degree or equivalent experience
  • A background in instrument calibration for several years. Working knowledge of BEAMEX instrument calibration equipment and software would be a distinct advantage
  • Familiarity with PLC’s, data acquisition and control systems and modern computer based instrumentation systems
  • A broad and practical knowledge of the maintenance requirements of electrical equipment
  • Able to speak and write fluently in English
  • Computer literate and familiar with Outlook, Word, Excel etc.
  • Proactive, accurate and detail orientated
  • Flexible to work extended hours as circumstances dictate

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of GE systems and structures
  • Experience of working in a heavy process industry
  • Familiarity with Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems including regulatory compliance
