Digital Marketing and Communications Manager

ROLE OBJECTIVE:

The role holder will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of planned digital media, marketing, and communications to ensure the elevation of Galen’s positive reputation globally. They will have responsibility for all Galen corporate communications in line with central corporate marketing and will represent Galen within the Almac corporate marketing strategy.

The post holder will report to the Vice President of Marketing and Medical Nutrition and will work across all divisions and regions within Galen to enhance the growth of Galen in accordance with the global Galen strategy.

In this role you will work closely with the marketing team within Galen and with the Almac Corporate marketing team. You will also be responsible for working with BD, Commercial and Sales functions to provide support to campaigns and product related marketing. Understanding the strategy for Galen will be key as this will allow you to support the strategy through the production of agreed communication content, analysing and reporting on data, to adapt and improve projects and campaigns.

The post holder will also be responsible for all corporate communications within Galen that further enhance and build the Galen presence within the pharmaceutical landscape. You will also be responsible for working with the MD and the SLT on any/all campaigns requiring digital and social media content.

 

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

The post holder will:

·    Manage and maintain Galen’s corporate websites including liaising with agencies and Almac’s IS team.

·    Create and implement digital communications in line with Galen campaigns, product launches and specific commercial and marketing initiatives.

·      Develop thought leadership content, corporate communications, press releases and blog content in conjunction with partner agencies.

·      Monitor and analyse Galen’s PR activities to help improve outputs and provide recommendations for action, including liaising with PR agencies.

·      Design and update corporate marketing materials (Galen & POA) in line with the business needs including, but not limited to, corporate brochures, event stands, business cards, PP templates, and email signatures, in line with corporate brand guidelines.

·      Oversee and manage video & photography requirements with third party suppliers and Almac’s Corporate Marketing team.

·      Lead corporate partnership initiatives such as the John Hinds Scholarship Award and Ulster University Paramedics Award as well as management of ad hoc requests.

·      Working closely with Galen’s Business Development team to provide support for targeted lead generation campaigns and develop materials for events.

·      Work across all departments within Galen to strengthen and develop the digital marketing and communications focus within the company.

·    Work in alignment with the Almac Corporate Marketing team to ensure Galen is functioning within Almac parameters and benefiting from Almac campaigns.

·    Continually analyse competitor activity and provide regular feedback to the business.

·    Recommend and implement improvements to increase effectiveness of company communications.

·    Agree and work to targets to increase Galen & POA’s brand awareness and increase global engagement.

·    Support the Global Sales Director in relation to CSR initiatives.

·    Support the MD, SLT and other departments in all forms of communications in addition to social media.

·    Any other duties determined by your line manager as appropriate for the role.

QUALIFICATIONS

BA or BSc degree qualification (or equivalent) in relevant subject

EXPERIENCE

Relevant experience in media communications in a corporate or agency environment

Experience working within a team which manages social media, media relations, internal stakeholders, and executives

KEY SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

Excellent English language oral and written communication skills

High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook

Able to manage multiple projects independently

Excellent attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to work in a team
