Cyber Security Coordinator

The Role:
Uisce Éireann IT (UÉ IT) provides IT services and support to the wider Uisce Éireann business.
The Cyber Security Team is responsible for ensuring efficient cyber operations across the organisation, monitoring and implementing security controls and capabilities, and supporting security design activities, ensuring alignment to leading industry, legal and regulatory standards and requirements. The team play a key role in embedding IT security practices across Uisce Éireann processes, procedures and culture and acts as subject matter expert for the Head of IT, on all IT security related matters and issUÉs across the enterprise.
Reporting to the Cyber Operations Manager, the Cyber Security Coordinator will be responsible for performing vulnerability/risk assessments, security assessments, security audits, security monitoring and security testing. The role will assist in the analysis and input to remediation steps for cyber security events and incidents.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the corporate IT technical and security standards and cyber operations management of the IT technical estate
- Drive and adopt automation capabilities across the security technology landscape
- Perform day to day support of security monitoring activities, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, threat intelligence, threat hunting and implementing security policies & procedures
- Responsible for logging security events, monitoring and responding to any potential attacks
- Perform regular threat and vulnerability scans
- Identify and assess security risks by monitoring, tracking and escalating as appropriate
- Assist in investigations of IT security issues and breaches and reviewing findings with team and key stakeholders
- Assist in selection, adoption decisions and installations of automated tools that enforce or monitor the compliance with information security policies, procedures, standards, and similar information security requirements
- Administer remote access, PKI, Certificates & password vaulting solutions
- Partake in efforts to remediate security alerts and respond to security related incidents
- Assist in the delivery of internal technology security projects in conjunction with the IT Build & Delivery area and Business Change Teams (as required) on time, on budget, and at the expected quality
- Assist overall security assessment, testing activities and deliverables across various releases and programs
- Help shape and evidence that security acceptance criteria are defined and agreed for projects
- Actively escalate security assessments and testing findings where needed
- Work closely with external resources/third party suppliers, as required
- Support technical compliance, continuous improvements and best practices within the UÉ security framework
- Other duties as required from time to time
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business, including but not limited to;
- Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
- Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
- Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience
- Min 1 year relevant experience in a similar role in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
- Proactive, with ability to work on own initiative and with others to ensure success in the performance of a team
- Proven effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and remain focused
- Proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey messages in a clear and concise manner
- Strong Computer skills with a proficient working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to set up ongoing processes and procedures to collect and review information
- Flexible with regard to working in a changing environment and the ability to adjust to new work structures, processes and requirements as necessary
- Proactively identifying new areas of learning and using newly gained knowledge and skills on the job
- Striving for quality and ensuring consistent high standards of work
Grade and Salary Grade F (€39,026-€58,538)*
*Please be advised that if successful you will be placed on the salary range based on your skills and experience. Please note the Market reference point (midpoint) of the range is generally the upper end of the offer where someone is deemed to be fully competent to take on the duties of the role, and leaves room for the employee to progress through the pay range as their experience develops further
